Collaborative woodland project

The George Scarf memorial woodland in Pudsey Park is to be renovated. Thinning of trees and clearing undergrowth will allow for the planting of plugs of native woodland species plants and bulbs in the green. The bark path will be relaid.
It is planned to work with cubs and brownies to create bug hotels and other wildlife homes.
Pudsey in Bloom will work with the British Trust for Conservation volunteers to do the planting. Pudsey and District Civic Society will provide the funding

Lidgett Hill

The shrub beds on Lidgett Hill will be removed and the areas paved. 5 new planters will be sited and planted with columnar apple trees and under planted with a mix of sustainable and seasonal plants. The existing brick rose bed will be emptied and repaired and hanging baskets will be suspended on metal arms whilst bedding will be planted beneath. The daffodils will be replanted for spring colour.

Leisure Centre paintings

The faded weather-beaten paintings on the side of the leisure centre will be replaced with fresh artwork. Pudsey in Bloom is working with the leisure centre, local councillors, and the Breeze Friday night project. The young people from the Breeze project will produce the new pictures as part of their Friday night activities.
There will also be a painting competition involving our 2 local high schools. When complete their work will be exhibited in empty shop premises during July.
